Your friendly local
Proper pubs aren't as few and far between as you think – not if you know where to look. Whether you're on the high street or at the heart of a rural community, you can choose from 100 of our good old-fashioned locals across the country.
If you're in London or the southeast, you'll be spoilt for choice: here you'll find 30 of our locals dotted around. Try The Font, one of the friendliest pubs in Brighton. Housed by a 17th century chapel on the edge of the city's famous Lanes, it serves a broad church of followers – of good beer, that is.
Over in South Wales, we've a couple of great locals – the highlight of which must be The White Rose on the Mumbles. Enjoy a pint and a pie here as you look back at Swansea across the bay. While up in landlocked Derby you have the famous Red Cow, a pub that's been faithfully serving Allestree for as long as anyone can remember.
When you find your favourite friendly local, you'll also find perfectly poured pints, great–value food and a good helping of friendly banter. Not to mention plenty of cracking deals and pub entertainment, from quiz nights to big games on our big screens.
